How to handle task effectively and increase productivity?

Many a times in life, whether at home or workplace, we used to face so many tasks to be done simultaneously. At first, our usual reaction is confusion. We are not able to proceed and rather we remain wherever we were. Instead of getting confused or messed up, if we remain calm and try to prioritize the tasks, then our problem may get solved.
Yes, here we are, so friends, today let us discuss about importance of Prioritization in our lives.
When we practice this very habit of Prioritization in our lives, then you will find that life becomes much simpler.
Here is a step-by-step approach to help you get started….

(1) Make a to-do list of the priorities based on the importance

Do not keep your tasks on post-it notes or in your head, it is better that at the beginning of each day or a week, you list your tasks on a sheet of paper or your daily working diary. Rank your tasks based on their importance or their urgency, so that you can plan your day and focus your mind.

(2) Setting the deadlines of the priorities

Beside each item in your to-do list, write deadline against each job. Make sure you write the actual time required for a job to be completeed instead of writing when you would like to have completed that job.

(3) Make provisions for the interruptions

You might be very busy in your work at the workplace, but a query from the client in between may interrupt your work or you are asked to do some other work on urgent basis. Similarly, at home, you may be busy in helping your kids in their studies but a sudden visit by a guest may hamper your on-going task.

(4) Avoid multi-tasking

When you pick up many jobs at a time and do a bit of each of them, then you may land up with great confusion. Always handle one task at a time and finish it first before starting another. Your mind will be clear and ready for the next assignment.

(5) Un-clutter the to-do list

Most of the times, our to-do list are cluttered with many little tasks which require very little time to be completed, but pose a big burden on our to-do list and also on our minds. It will be better to take out some time and complete these little tasks, this will not only shorten our to-do list but also give us a sense of relief and help us to concentrate on the other things which are more important.

(6) Re-evaluation of the to-do list

In a busy workplace or at home, priorities keep on changing. As a result, we need to constantly re-evaluate our changing priorities on our to-do list. Weekly re-evaluation of priorities may serve the purpose.

A Final note

So friends, by adopting the habit of Prioritization, we will not only learn good time management in terms of smart working rather long working, but would also increase our productivity and efficiency.
