Everybody want success in their lives, although the meaning of success varies from person to person, it majorly depends on the kind of role that you are playing in the life. Here are the few examples:
(1) Desire to Work
This is the first important principle towards the path to success. Desire is strong feeling of wanting something, say an object or an outcome, which excites or motivates a person to take appropriate action to achieve the goal. Without this strong feeling or the burning desire, it is not possible to start the journey of success.
The surrounding environment and the individual’s thoughts play a crucial role in designing, shaping and quantifying the feeling or craving for success.
Energy without right direction generally gets dissipated, wasted or may give negative outcome. For example, a person has deep desire to earn money and he achieved his goal by looting a bank, a negative outcome. This clearly shows that, he didn’t focus his energy in the right direction. Here, we need to condition our mind so that the ecstasy of the outcome may not over dominate person’s senses of differentiating between right or wrong.
Whereas, a deep desire when channeled into the right direction leads to true success which is beneficial to all.
The level of awareness helps in opening the doors of opportunities that lead to right direction.
This is the single-mindedness faith or devotion towards the goal or something you want in life. If you have a wavering faith in your goal, then it is less likely that you will achieve it, even if you have a deep desire and a right direction. The constant thinking about the outcome of the goal weakens the dedication and concentration (The subset of dedication is concentration), because mind can do one thing at a time, either to think about the outcome of the goal or to work towards reaching that goal; the only way to increase the concentration is to detach your-self from constant thinking about the outcome of the goal.
Try to make picture of the goal in the mind every morning, then detach yourself from the outcome and focus all the energy, for whole day, in the process. Practicing this activity every day will help in strengthening the focus in the process of achieving the goal (Please read 7 daily morning habits of successful people)
This is the fourth important principle for success. It is the ability to persist or carry on in spite of difficulties until the goal is reached. Even if you have all the ingredients but lack discipline, then again it is very difficult to reach your goal. All successful people are always disciplined in their work and approach. Regular constant efforts will inch you a step closer towards the goal while a poor discipline will result in lower output, irrespective of qualification and the talent.
The basic and important ingredients must be present, irrespective of the type of success one desires in life. These four tenets have to be practiced daily to get the desired output. Anyone, who practice and implement these 4 D’s of success in one’s life, is bound to achieve the GOAL.
